Star Gazing
Children are fascinated by the moon, stars and planets. On a clear night get children to look at the sky as it darkens, get them to spot different stars and see if any of them make interesting shapes. Introduce them to some of the more well know constellations such as The Plough (which looks like a saucepan!). See what else you can see- shooting stars for instance or aeroplanes. You could also look on the internet or borrow some books from the library to find out more about the solar system.
Note: It is important that children understand that they should never look at the sun as it can damage their eyes.
