Have Fun Indoors

With the weather getting colder and more miserable, here is a selection of indoor activities to try on those cold, winter nights.

• Making A Den – Just grab an old sheet and make a den. Sit inside and tell stories and let your imagination go wild!


• Baking – Make some fairy cakes or some cookies (with adult supervision of course!) and get your child interested in cookery, and you’ll have some yummy food at the end of it! If they're too young to be in the kitchen, you can use play food to help introduce them to the world of cooking.


• Make Masks – Create masks with some card, string, felt tip pens and some imagination! Be a superhero, be a monster, be anyone you want to be. We have a selection of ready-made zoo masks in our shop.


• Get Festive – With Christmas looming, why don’t you make some homemade decorations? Paper chains, snowman for the tree, perhaps even an angel to sit on top. Kids love being creative, and they love Christmas, this is a winning activity on how to spend an afternoon indoors. Paper chain kits and nativity scenes are just some of the items available to get you started.


• Learn About Nature – activities such as the ‘Little Pals Living Jungle’ teach your child about nature and how plants grow, but do so inside where it is nice and warm!


• Story Time – Write a story together, simple yet effective, and let your creativity flow. As a twist, get a selection of ten extremely random words and write a story to include these. The end result is something completely inventive and sometimes bizarre! Or you could always take a look at our story book department?


• Dress Up – Raid your wardrobe and see what crazy outfits you can up with!


• Get Competitive – Have a board games afternoon and let your competitive streaks run riot.
