As the days get longer and warmer, now is the perfect time for getting out in your garden or in to the countryside for some fun nature watching. See if you can see these in your garden this month:-
Speckled wood butterfly - June is the prefect month to see these lovely butterflies in large numbers in your garden trees or woodland, their speckled wings ideal as camouflage amongst the leaves. They like feeding on hedgerow flower’s nectar such as bramble or rose and live for 20 days.
June is also the best month to see a host of different birds in your garden as they struggle to keep up with the feeding demands of their chicks. Although most species feed their off spring on tiny insects and bugs they will still visit your bird table or feeder for food for themselves so it is as important as ever to keep a constant supply of food and water for them. Check out how to make your own recycled bird feeder here.
